What Queensland actually offers
There is no standing Queensland rebate for commercial solar. The federal STC discount is the up-front reduction, and the Gold Coast sits in the same zone as Brisbane, so the discount is worth more here than in the southern states.
Feed-in rates in south-east Queensland are set by retailers rather than by government, so what a Gold Coast site earns from exports depends on its contract. Size to on-site load and treat export income as a bonus.

What changes on a roof near the water
Close to the ocean, salt mist corrodes frames, mounting and inverter enclosures. Panels and inverters carry manufacturer limits on how close to the coast they can be installed and still be warranted, so a beachfront site needs equipment specified for it rather than the standard kit.

Connecting through Energex
The Gold Coast is on Energex, the same distributor as Brisbane, so the connection process and thresholds are the same. What differs is the building stock — hotels, shopping centres, hospitals and light industry rather than big-shed logistics — and the coast itself.
Energex sets the threshold where a commercial connection moves from a notification to a full application with an export assessment. It is the same process a Brisbane site goes through.
